SAWING SOLUTIONS SINCE 1928.
On 1st January 1928, Hermann Klaeger, Operations Manager at the Fortuna-Werke in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt, took over the hacksaw program that had been in existence since 1905 and founded the “Fortuna Cold Saw Factory” in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. The young company is given the right to continue using the name “Fortuna” at the handover. Fortuna-Klaeger: this name positively heralds the start of a new era. The history of the company is taken into account with a new fortuna range. Following a short boom period in 1928/29, Klaeger also begins to feel the effects of the global economic crisis. The company overcomes this difficult period through technical innovations, hard work and entrepreneurial skill. A steady period of growth then follows which is, however, interrupted by the difficulties of the wartime period.
Following the death of the company's founder, Hans Klaeger assumes management of the company and, thanks to energetic support from the employees, manages to build the company up again in spite of all the difficulties of the post-war period. The company is able to successfully build on its good reputation from before the war. Thousands of Klaeger saws are sold around the world.
The company Klaeger Präzision is founded by Hans Klaeger together with Dipl. Ing. Erhard Jost, the 2nd managing director.
Dipl. Ing. Wolfram Klaeger, grandson of the company's founder, becomes managing director in 1987 and continues the company's success story.
Klaeger builds the new manufacturing and assembly plant in Kernen-Rommelshausen near Stuttgart in order to meet increasing demand and keep up with technical developments.
The company celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2003, with premium quality band sawing machines and fully automatic band sawing machines now having been the focus of the company's development and production for some time.
fortuna and pharos automatic saw machines, as well as actron and bitron semi-automatic saw machines with specially developed and self-built controls, demonstrate the high standard of Swabian mechanical engineering. The internal structure and organisation is also continuously improved with the constant aim of being a worthy partner to customers.
“We must never lose sight of our goal to deliver quality”, that is the creed of both the management and employees.
All vertical band sawing machines are redeveloped and a wide and well-developed range of VBS machines are now available. Ultra-modern and conscious of tradition, innovative and grounded in its roots, these are the very characteristics that a wide range of customers expects from Klaeger - from metal workers to component manufacturers through to automobile and aircraft manufacturers, shipbuilders and energy companies.
Klaeger celebrates its 85th anniversary and alongside further new developments, the company also develops the SmartCut innovation in collaboration with the University of Stuttgart: Saws... at their very best!
